Key logger
A keylogger
is a type of surveillance software (considered to be either software or
spyware) that has the capability to record every keystroke.
you make to a log
file, usually encrypted. A keylogger recorder can record instant messages,
e-mail, and any information you type at any time using your keyboard.
Once the
keylogger is installed, it starts operating in the background (in a stealth
mode) and captures every keystroke of the target device.
The user on
the target device goes to http://mail.google.com and types his “username” and
the “password” in the respective fields to login.
The keylogger silently
records these keystrokes and stores them in the logs. These logs when opened up
shows the captured “username” and “password“. Along with this, you will also be
shown that they were typed in the Yahoo login page. Thus, the keylogger loads
upon every startup, runs in the background and captures each and every
keystroke.
