Microsoft windows is a family of operating systems.
We look at the history of Microsoft’s Windows operating
systems.

The windows operating system are more formally called
Microsoft windows and is a family of operating systems for personal computers.
Windows dominates the personal computer world running by
some estimates, more than 90% of all have personal computer and the remainder
running Linux and Mac operating system. Windows provide GUI virtual memory
management, multitasking, and support many peripheral devices.

about MS-DOS….
MS-DOS
MS-DOS Was Standard operating system for IBM-compatible
Personal computers. Dos were very simple and resembled
another operating system called CP/M (control program for Microcomputer).
Windows
1.0 – 2.0
It is introduced in 1985, Microsoft Windows 1.0 named due to
windows that represented the fundamental aspect of the operating system. In MS-
DOS commands ,windows 1.0 allow users to point and click to acess the windows.
In 1987 Microsoft released windows 2.0 which was designed for
the Intel 286 processor. This version added some features like desktop icons,
keyboard shortcuts and improved graphics support.
Windows
3.0 – 3.1
It was released in May 1990 having better icons, and
performance and graphics with 16 colors designed for Intel 386 processors.
Windows 3.0 include program Manager, file manager, print manager, and games
like solitaire.
Microsoft released
windows 3.1 in 1992.
Windows 98
It supports for a new technology, including FAT32, AGP, MMX,
USB, DVD, AND ACPI. it is most visible feature which is integrates the web
browser with the operating system.
Windows ME
The full
form of ME is Millennium Edition. It was released on September 2000.
It was
an update to the windows 98 core and
include some feature of Windows 2000 os.
Windows NT 31.-4.0
It is the
another version of Windows operating system. Windows NT means Windows New
Technology . It is 32 bit os that supports preemptive multitasking.
There are
actually two versions of window NT, Windows NT server, Windows NT Workstation
for stand alone or Client workstations.
WINDOWS 2000
It was
released in February 2000. This operating system for business Desktop and
laptop system to run software application. It is also connect to internet and
intranet sites, and access file, printers and network resources.

released another operating system in
2001 Windows XP in October
Its feel to
the user interface. The New OS is built on Windows 2000 kernel, giving the user
more reliable and stable environment. It is also come in two version , Home and
Professional . The Microsoft focused on mobility for both edition. It also including plug and play
features for connecting to wireless networks.
WINDOWS VISTA
It is
released in November 2006 . it is more reliability, security , easy access. In
this New version was capability to detect hardware problems before they occur,
windows Vista simplifies and centralizes desktop configuration management,
reducing the cost of keeping system updated. It also have security features to
protect against the latest generation of threats, faster start-up and low power
consumption.

released windows 7 on October 22, 2009. Windows 7 was released in conjunction with server 2008 R2. In this
new features include like it have multi touch support, internet Explorer 8 .

Windows 8
was released on 1 August 2012 and it is a complete redesigned Os. Windows 8
will replace the more traditional Microsoft Windows Os look and feel with a new
"Metro” designed interface that first debuted in the windows phone 7
mobile Os. It start screen made up of “live Tiles” which are link to
application feature that are dynamic and update in real time.

windows 8 supports both x86 PCs and ARM processor.
Windows 10
Windows 10 is
the successor of Windows 8 . Windows 10 is debuted on 29 July,2015 following a
“technical preview” beta release of the new Os. Windows 10 features fast start
up and resume , built –in security and return of the start Menu in an expanded
form. Microsoft new browser any qualified devices such as tablet, PCs, smartphone and Xbox
consoles can upgraded to windows 10,including those with pirated copies of
windows.
